About Us

NorTech Energy Enterprise is leading a collaborative regional effort to drive growth across all sectors in advanced energy. By accelerating commercial activity, we are helping to develop an advanced energy cluster in Northeast Ohio, which will result in long-term, positive economic impact on the region.

Serving as the focal point in Northeast Ohio for the advanced energy cluster, NorTech Energy Enterprise marshals resources and forges collaborations to drive growth. Our work includes: 

  • Connecting and convening public, private and academic partners to define the vision, strategy and priorities for the region
  • Hosting educational events
  • Monitoring state and federal funding opportunities
  • Building relationships to attract later stage capital
  • Communicating progress and performance of the region’s advanced energy cluster
  • Promoting the region’s advanced energy story to audiences inside and outside the region

We also lead and champion a portfolio of high-reward projects that create jobs and attract capital. NorTech Energy Enterprise’s role will vary from project to project and may include:

  • Attracting resources and talent to the region
  • Providing strategic guidance
  • Recruiting collaborators
  • Assisting with grant writing
  • Conducting market research

Founded in 2009, in partnership with The Cleveland Foundation and with support from the Fund for Our Economic Future, NorTech Energy Enterprise is an advanced energy initiative of NorTech, the Northeast Ohio Technology Coalition, the champion for growing Northeast Ohio's high-tech economy.
